  • Increased investment in community relationships through community events such as:

    • RapidSOS (accurately pinpoints cellular 911 callers in real-time)

  • Raised current employees and starting pay for deputies and dispatchers to recruit and retain the very best professionals who are committed to Goochland.

  • Applied for and was awarded a grant to fully fund 2 full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) positions in GCPS elementary schools.  The grant award assisted GCSO in ensuring there is an SRO securing every public school in Goochland County.

  • Awarded 6th reaccreditation through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission in September 2020.

  • Founded the Goochland Sheriffs Foundation with a mission of supporting community outreach activities and programs of the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office.

  • In 2022, Goochland County Sheriff’s Office deputies completed over three times the number of training hours required by the Department of Criminal Justice Services in two years in just one year alone.

  • Awarded as the 64th agency in the United States to achieve the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development Association's Agency Trilogy Award

  • NEW Regional Sheriffs' Emergency Response Team was created to support mutual aid and response to critical incidence collaboration between the sheriffs in Cumberland, Fluvanna, Goochland, Louisa, and Powhatan.

  • Added two new K-9s to our team and equipped both with bullet-proof vests – Corporal Achilles and Corporal Liberty

  • NEW GCSO equipment deployed:

    • ALL GCSO deputies equipped with body-worn cameras

    • Automated External Defibrillators (AED) placed in all GCSO patrol cars

    • Cell phones for all deputies

    • Patrol vehicle graphics

    • Prisoner cages installed in all patrol vehicles

    • Lighter/cooler bullet-proof vests for all deputies

    • Drone for search and rescue

    • Holster sensor

    • Additional radar trailers & sign boards

    • NEW utility terrain vehicle

    • NEW forensics van

    • NEW prisoner van

When Sheriff Creasey took office in January 2020, the Goochland County Sheriff's Office adopted a new mission and vision, which also included identifying the agency's core values.
