A lifetime dedicated to serving the citizens of Goochland County

 

Steven Creasey is a lifelong resident of Goochland County.  After graduating from Goochland High School in 1993, he began serving the citizens of Goochland County as a volunteer firefighter at 17.  Steven’s family also has a long history of service to Goochland County; many of Steven’s earliest childhood memories center around his mother, Diana Creasey, teaching emergency medical technician (EMT) classes, where he served as the child victim for the students. 

 

Steven joined the Goochland County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 and has spent his entire professional career with the department.  In addition to serving as Sheriff for the last three years, Steven has also held the positions of dispatcher, deputy, corporal, tactical operations team member, and patrol sergeant, a position he held for over 10 years before being elected Sheriff of Goochland County in November 2019.  

 

Steven obtained a Master of Arts in Human Services-Criminal Justice degree from Liberty University, where he graduated with high distinction and was inducted into the National Criminal Justice Honor Society. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Liberty University and an Associate of Applied Science in Administration of Justice from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College.    

 

Steven and his wife, Grace, have been married for 14 years and have one child.  Steven is a lifetime member of the Goochland County Fire-Rescue Association, actively serving for over 30 years.  He is also an active member of Company 2 (Crozier) Fire-Rescue Station, served for several years as a member of the Goochland County Fire-Rescue Board of Directors, is a Master Mason of DeWitt-Clinton Masonic Lodge No. 141, Sons of the American Legion SQDN# 215, and maintains certifications as a firefighter, an emergency medical technician (EMT) and a CPR instructor.

For the last two years, Steven has served on the Virginia Sheriff's Association (VSA) Board of Directors as the Region 8 Director, representing 10 of Central Virginia's localities, including Goochland.  Steven also serves on the VSA Legislative Committee and Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy's Bylaws & Standards Review Committee.
